The SEDS Italy Space Conference (SISC) is a national event designed to bring together the Italian university student community with a focus on the space sector.
After the success achieved with the first edition in 2022 at Luiss University in Rome (which was covered in a report on RAI 2 by Giorgio Pacifici) and the second in 2023 at the University of Eastern Piedmont with the participation of prestigious sponsors including AIKO, Avio, D-Orbit, AIRBUS, Planetek, APOGEO SPACE, and high-profile guests such as astronauts Walter Villadei and Andrea Patassa, the Deputy Minister of Economic Development, and the Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Innovation and Digital Transition, the idea of SISC25 emerges with the main goal of deepening and enhancing Italy's role in the development of the aerospace sector, creating a bridge between students, institutions, industry, and the research community.
The event represents a unique opportunity for students to come into direct contact with professionals from the sector, companies, startups, public agencies, and research centers, not only to discover the latest technological innovations, but also to explore opportunities for collaboration, internships, thesis projects, doctoral paths, and career prospects.During the conference, there will be ample opportunity for interaction between guests and participants, through thematic panels, workshops, round tables, and career-focused sessions. Activities will take place in a dynamic and multidisciplinary context, in which students with both scientific and humanities backgrounds can contribute to the reflection on the future of space exploration and development.
SISC25 also aims to be a moment of comparison among the different local branches of the association, which will have the opportunity to present their projects and share experiences. It will also be possible to apply to become part of SEDS Italy, discovering the initiatives planned for 2025 and the roadmap of future student activities.
With this event, SEDS Italy aims to strengthen its role as a national hub for students passionate about space, contributing to building a cohesive and interconnected network that promotes the growth of the Italian aerospace sector and the enhancement of young talents.
